I was born in a village, whose name is Avina in Kurdish and Surgucu in Turkish,
in Mardin, in 1957. I live in Diyarbakir. I studied in the College of Literature in university.

My journalism career began with writing in Baskent, a monthly magazine published in Ankara, in 1974. In the same years, my photos were published in Sanat ve Insan (Art and Human), a monthly magazine in Ankara. In the next years, I worked as a writer, representative and reporter in newspapers like Tercuman, Gunaydin, Milliyet, Ekspres (Adana), Siyah-Beyaz (Ankara) and in agencies like Akdeniz Haber Ajansi (Mediterranean News Agency), Turk Haberler Ajansi (Turkish News Agency), Ortadogu Haber Ajansi (Middle East News Agency), Ulusal Haber Ajansi (National News Agency).

I myself published "Olay"  Newspaper in Diyarbakir. And I worked in Milliyet newspaper as a reporter in the Department of Diyarbakir as well as a teacher until 1993.

In the beginnings of 1993 i worked as the director of publication in the newspaper of Diyarbakir Soz.

I had to leave journalism in the middle of 1993, because there was no opportunity for writing freely.

I worked as an editor in the newspaper of Guneydogu Ekspres which published in Diyarbakir. There were also my writings about culture and art published in that newspaper.

I am writing about historical and cultural subjects. In addition these, I am documentary photographer. I am working for some local and foreign media instutitions if they want. I send them special writings and photos about historical and cultural subjects.
